GameChanger
You shot the video. They're billing your mom.
GameChanger is free to stream, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. You supply the phone, the tripod, the two hours and the volunteer.
Then they charge the grandparents to watch it. Five free games, then $39.99 to $179.99 a year. And DICK'S sells advertising against the footage you shot.
The part worth reading twice
They sell the ads openly.
GameChanger's parent company markets pre-roll and mid-roll video against youth sports, calls the inventory “premium, non-skippable content,” and tells advertisers that GameChanger users “spend 2x more annually at DICK'S.”
DICK'S Sporting Goods media site, Live Sports
They throw ads in and I've had two of her at bats cut short from ads.
I am a grandparent that is paying $25 a month and now I have to put up with 4 to 6 ads while I'm watching my grandchild's game.
The volunteers who shoot the streams have noticed who is getting paid.
I'm not an employee of GameChanger and I'm not getting that money.
What you get instead
One price. Nobody else billed.
-
Nobody pays to watch. Not after five games, not ever, in any sport.
No annual plan for grandparents, no family tier, nobody at home asked for a card.
-
No ads, because there is nobody to sell them to.
We stream to your own YouTube channel, and YouTube only runs ads against channels in its Partner Program, which takes 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 watch hours. Your team channel is not close. The stream runs clean.
-
The archive is the real thing.
GameChanger stores at 720p even when you streamed 1080p, and publishes no way to export a full game. We record up to 4K locally, with the scoreboard burned in, and the file is on your phone.
-
Stream to more than one place at once.
Twitch, Facebook, your league’s own RTMP server. GameChanger publishes no route out at all.
-
Someone else can keep score from a browser.
Five characters, no app, no account, no staff role. They score from the stands while you hold the camera.
-
Cancel in one tap.
GameChanger’s terms read “we do not issue refunds of any Fees for early cancellation or termination of the Services, or for any other reason.” We sell through the App Store, so cancelling is one tap in Settings and Apple handles refunds.
GameChanger Terms of Service, section 4.2
The summary
You do the work. They bill your family and sell ads against it. Ours is $49.99 a year, the video is yours, and nobody at home is ever asked to pay.
Prices are the ones each company publishes, checked 2026-09-18.
