The split screen
Two apps. Two iPads. One game.
Score in one app because that is where the stats live. Stream from another because that is the only way to get it on YouTube. Prop both against the fence and hope neither one drops.
People are genuinely doing this. Posting screenshots of it.
The setup people describe
Two logins, two batteries, one volunteer.
SidelineHD. We use it to stream to YouTube. Still score the game on GameChanger. I actually have the sideline and GC up on an iPad.
Two apps, two things to go wrong, and one person running both while the game happens in front of them. It works. It is also more than anyone should have to do to put a youth game online.
One app instead
Same job. One screen.
-
Scoreboard and stream are the same product.
The score you tap appears on the broadcast instantly, because it is one app compositing one output. Nothing to keep in sync.
-
Better still, hand the scoring away.
A parent in the stands opens a browser, types a five character code, and scores from their own phone. No app, no account. You just hold the camera.
-
It records while it streams.
Separate pipeline, segmented files. A dropped stream never costs you the game, and the scoreboard is on the file you keep.
-
11 sports with the rules built in.
Auto sets in volleyball. Three outs flips the half inning. Serve rotation in pickleball. Down and distance in football. Overtime that reads OT 1, OT 2 everywhere.
-
One device.
An iPhone 12 or newer, or an iPad. No second tablet propped against the fence, no second battery, no second thing to go wrong.
-
Your own channel.
YouTube, Twitch, Facebook, or your league’s RTMP server, several at once. The link is yours and nobody pays to open it.
The summary
You worked out a two app rig because nobody told you one app could do it. It can.
Prices are the ones each company publishes, checked 2026-09-18.
