Volleyball scoreboard guide
Every CineSportCam volleyball board, the Volleyball Rules settings, the scoring screen, and what viewers see from set point to the next set.
For parents, coaches and volunteers streaming indoor volleyball. The app tracks the sets, the serve and the set point for you; you tap +1 for whoever wins the rally. New to the scoreboard? Start with How to set up your scoreboard.
Pick your board
Volleyball has 14 boards on 10 cards in the picker: four looks along the top or bottom (each with Standard and Advanced), two Vertical sizes for a corner, and four Compact looks.

| Board | Free or Pro | What viewers see |
|---|---|---|
| Classic · Standard | Free | Team names, scores, the set number, a pill for each set won, and a bar under the serving team. You tap Next Set when a set is won. |
| Broadcast, Studio or Slim · Standard | Pro | The same, in that look and in your team colors. You tap Next Set. |
| Advanced, in any look | Pro | Adds up to 4 past set scores under the teams (the winner’s in white) and a SET POINT or MATCH POINT tab over the team that has it. The next set starts by itself. |
| Compact, in any look | Pro | Big scores, the set number, team names and a square for each set won. The next set starts by itself. |
| Vertical and Vertical Large | Pro | A row per team with its color, sets won and score. A column is added as each set finishes, plus the point tab. The next set starts by itself. |
Set the rules
Open Settings → Display → Volleyball Rules while volleyball is selected.
- Match Format: Best of 5 (the default) or Best of 3.
- Auto Advance Set - Delay: how long the board waits before starting the next set. 5 seconds (the default), 10 seconds, 0 (immediate), or Manual (operator advances). It only appears when your board starts the next set by itself.
Changed the format by mistake in the middle of a match? Undo takes it back.
The app follows the volleyball rules for you:
- Sets go to 25 and you have to win by 2, with no cap. The deciding set (the 5th, or the 3rd in best of 3) goes to 15.
- Tapping +1 also gives that team the serve.
- The team that lost a set serves first in the next one.
Score a game

Each team has +1 and −1. The serving team has a volleyball icon next to its name. Under the scores:
- Sets: N with − and + corrects how many sets a team has won.
- SET with − and + moves to another set and sets both scores to zero.
- Serve, in the action bar, moves the serve by hand if it ever needs fixing.
When a set is won, the screen says SET COMPLETE and the green Next Set button takes the place of the −1 and +1 buttons. On the free Classic board, and on the Standard boards in any look, tap Next Set to start the next set. On Advanced, Vertical and Compact boards a countdown runs instead, and the next set starts by itself. Tap Next Set if you want it to start straight away.

While a won set waits, only +1 is blocked. Serve, the Sets and SET buttons, and Undo still work, so if the last point was a mistake, tap Undo.
The point that wins the match ends it straight away, with no countdown, and the final score stays on the board. There’s no “Who won?” question: Next Set gives the set to the team that’s ahead.
What viewers see
Here’s a match at a tense moment: EAGLES lead TIGERS 24–22 in the third set, the sets are tied 1–1 (EAGLES won the first 25–21, TIGERS the second 25–23), and EAGLES are serving.
- Set point. The Advanced and Vertical boards raise a SET POINT tab over EAGLES. If winning the set would also win the match, the tab reads MATCH POINT.
- The set is won. EAGLES score: 25–22. The board holds the final score while the countdown runs, or until you tap Next Set.
- The next set. The scores go back to 0–0, the set number moves on, the sets-won count updates, and 25–22 joins the past set scores. TIGERS, who lost the set, serve first.
Remote scoring
The web scorer can do everything the phone can for volleyball: +1 and −1, Serve, the set and sets-won buttons, the SET POINT and MATCH POINT banner, Next Set or the countdown ring, and the winner when the match ends. One difference: while a won set waits, the web scorer keeps its −1 button.

Tips
- Compact and Vertical boards start the next set by themselves too, not just Advanced.
- Want to run the break yourself? Set the delay to Manual (operator advances), and every board waits for Next Set.
- Switching from best of 5 to best of 3 when a team has already won 2 sets ends the match.
