Pick your board
Pickleball has 10 boards on 6 cards in the picker: four looks along the top or bottom (each with Standard and Advanced) and two Vertical sizes for a corner. There’s no Compact board.

| Board | Free or Pro | What viewers see |
|---|---|---|
| Classic · Standard | Free | Team names, scores and the game number, with the score call in the center (“10-7-2” in doubles side-out, otherwise “10-7”) and dots for server 1 or 2. You tap Next Game when a game is won. |
| Broadcast, Studio or Slim · Standard | Pro | The same in that look and your team colors. The serve bar splits into 1 or 2 segments for the server number. You tap Next Game. |
| Advanced, in any look | Pro | Adds up to 4 past game scores and a GAME POINT or MATCH POINT tab. The next game starts by itself. |
| Vertical and Vertical Large | Pro | A row per team, with a numbered box for the server. The next game starts by itself. |
Set the rules
Open Settings → Display → Pickleball Rules while pickleball is selected.
- Match Format: Best of 3 (the default) or Best of 5.
- Scoring Mode: Side-Out (Traditional), the default, or Rally.
- Game Format: Game to 11 (the default), 15 or 21.
- Play Mode: Doubles (the default) or Singles.
- Auto Advance Game - Delay: 5 seconds (the default), 10 seconds, 0 (immediate) or Manual (operator advances). It only appears when your board starts the next game by itself.
A format change made after the first game is saved, but it waits for the next Reset Game.
The app follows the rules for you:
- Games are won by 2, with no cap.
- Side-out: only the serving team can score, so the receiving team’s +1 is dimmed. Only the serving team can be on GAME POINT or MATCH POINT.
- Rally: whoever wins the rally scores and serves.
- Doubles side-out starts at 0-0-2. Each new game starts at server 2, with the team that lost the last game serving.
Score a game

- +1 and −1 for each team. In side-out, the receiving team’s +1 is dimmed.
- The serve icon shows a 1 or 2 badge for the server number in doubles side-out.
- Side Out, in the action bar: when the serving side loses a rally, tap it. In doubles it passes the serve to the partner (server 2), then to the other team. In singles it simply switches the serve.
- Serve switches the serve without changing the server number, for corrections.
- Games: N with − and + corrects how many games a team has won, and GAME with − and + changes the game number.
When a game is won, the screen says GAME COMPLETE. Tap Next Game on Standard boards, or let the countdown run on Advanced and Vertical boards.
What viewers see
RILEY lead BROOKS 10–7 in game 2 of a doubles side-out match, and RILEY’s second server is serving: the call is 10-7-2. RILEY won game 1, 11–9.
- Match point. RILEY are serving and one point from winning the match, so the Advanced and Vertical boards show MATCH POINT.
- Side out. If RILEY lose the rally, tap Side Out. Their second server was already serving, so the serve passes to BROOKS, and the score call and server number update on the board.
- The match is won. The winning point ends the match straight away, and the final score stays on the board.
Remote scoring
The web scorer has the Side Out button, the server-number chip and the dimmed +1 for the receiving team, so a scorer in the stands can run side-out scoring from their phone. See the remote scoring guide to start a session.
Tips
- When the serving side loses a rally, tap Side Out, not Serve. Side Out keeps the server number right; Serve doesn’t change it.
- Changing the format mid-match? It takes effect at the next Reset Game.
